Lifecycle Manager Pro partners can run Assessments for clients that don't have a Lifecycle Manager X (LMX) license. Limited Assessments are designed for pre-sales and project-based workflows, so you can capture a "before" snapshot, take action, and then run an "after" comparison without upgrading the client to LMX first.
Who can use this feature?
Partners with a Lifecycle Manager Pro subscription.
What's included
LM Pro includes full Lifecycle Manager X access for one client. For every other client, you can use limited Assessments: choose one assessment template per client, and run that template up to two times per client.
How the "before" and "after" workflow works
Opening Assessments for a client without an LMX license shows a banner explaining the limited access, with an Upgrade to Lifecycle Manager X button.
- Pick a template. Before creating an assessment, select one template for that client — this is the template you'll use for both runs.
- Run the "before" assessment. This is your baseline, typically captured during pre-sales or at the start of a project.
- Run the "after" assessment. Once your project work is complete, run the same template a second time to capture the new state.
- Compare the two runs using Lifecycle Manager's existing comparison workflow, to see what changed — this is what makes the before/after pattern useful for demonstrating impact to a client.
After the second run, existing assessments stay visible, but you can't create another one with the limited-access template unless you upgrade the client to LMX. Deleting an assessment does not restore an additional run. See Conducting assessments to learn more.
When to use this feature
The two-run limit is intentional — it's built for situations where a before/after comparison is exactly what's needed: pre-sales discovery (identify gaps and risks, then re-run after the client accepts your proposed work) or project-based engagements (capture the starting state, deliver the project, use the second run to show the outcome). For clients who need recurring assessments or the full LMX feature set, upgrading is the better fit.
Upgrading a client to Lifecycle Manager X
Upgrade from the Lifecycle Manager X license management page. After upgrading, assessment run limits no longer apply, and the client gains the full LMX feature set, including Assessments, Goals, Budgets, Meetings, Deliverables, and Client IQ.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a different template for the "after" run? No — the before and after runs must use the same template, since that's what makes the comparison possible.
Does deleting an assessment restore a run? No, deleting doesn't increase the run limit for that client.
Can I use different templates for different clients? Yes, the one-template limit applies per client, not across your whole account.
Do I still get one full Lifecycle Manager X client on LM Pro? Yes — LM Pro still includes full LMX access for one client; limited Assessments apply to your other, non-LMX clients.
What happens to existing assessments if I upgrade a client to LMX? They remain visible and accessible. Upgrading lifts the run limits going forward, but doesn't change or remove assessments already completed.
